A View of the World—Without People

Wonder that the world would look like after the zombie apocalypse or the neutron bomb? You can get an idea from a photo project called "Silent World." It was created by French-German photography pair "Lucie & Simon," using a photographic trick that allows them to strip out anything that is moving in the photo — leaving barren streets (and a few dawdling pedestrians) in the world's biggest cities.

Some might call it apocalyptic. But to a New Yorker feeling swamped by the traffic and noise, it looks kind or refreshing.
