People have finally found a way to not talk with their mouths full. Instead they're texting, photographing, researching and tweeting through meals.
Nearly 30 percent of social media users can't put their down while they eat, according to a report "Dine and Dish" from Flowtown, an Internet marketing company. Perhaps not surprising, diners between ages 18 and 32 are the biggest abusers of traditional table-time etiquette: 47 percent said they text and tweet while eating.
But some multitasking at the table may actually indicate a widespread interest in the food we eat. Forget waiting for your host to finish her toast, now 25 percent of people are photographing the food before anyone can take a bite and posting to sites like Instagram , Pinterest and Tumblr.
