There is a definite trend of people videoing themselves in action sports such as skiing or biking. And digital camera companies are obliging with rugged models to ride along.
Sony's new HDR-AS15 action camera allows you to make Discovery Channel-inspired videos of that action. It records full 1080p HD video (as well as 2-megapixel photos), through a 170-degree ultra-wide lens that captures everything you see, if not more.

Mounted in a rugged, waterproof housing, the camera rides along on your helmet, gogles or handelbars. It is controlled wirelessly from a smartphone using Sony's Play Memories Mobile app that provides a preview of the video and records it for later sharing online.
Available in October, the HDR-AS15 will sell for under $400.
