A good set of portable speakers can almost always come in handy, and the fewer wires and charging devices that need to be untangled to use them, the better. For a completely wireless portable music experience, check out Aliph's Jambox.
Designed by a company known for their Jawbone Bluetooth headsets, the Jambox is "wireless both because it connects to your music source by Bluetooth and because its rechargeable battery does away with need for a power cable" according to a report by RegHardware. After syncing the Jambox to your laptop or iPhone, it can be used to play music or as a speaker for phone calls.
The 12 ounce, 6 inch (151 millimeter) device has an output of 85 decibels, which, according to the Jambox website puts it somewhere between a motorcycle and a rock concert. According to RegHardware, it "sounds just great, filling a small to medium room with consummate ease." The battery life lingers somewhere between seven and ten hours, so once the party starts, you'll be good to go for quite a while.
The Jambox is available right now in grey, red, blue and black for $199.99.
