iPod Touch with Camera Leaked in Vietnam
The Apple leaks just keep pouring in. And once again it's from Vietnam. This time it's pictures and video of a new iPod touch model with a 2-megapixel camera in back.
The same Vietnamese site that got images and video of the iPhone 4G has also found the iPod touch prototype, putting Apple's legendary reputation for secrecy into serious jeopardy.
There were many dissatisfied Apple customers when the most recent iPod touch model was launched without a camera in the device, a seemingly inexplicable oversight given that the iPhone has a camera and teardowns of the iPod found plenty of room inside for one. It's very likely this prototype may indicate an iPod-with-camera product refresh this summer when Apple officially announces the iPhone 4G .
The "DVT-1" marking on the back of the device indicates it is a design verification unit from early in the product testing process, so it's likely the end result will look different from this prototype.
The iPod touch is shown in the video below, although it isn't running the standard iPod touch operating system. It is shown running a diagnostic utility, which is unsurprising for a test model. Near the end, the video also includes a look at the Dell Streak , possibly for comparison.
