iPhone 3GS Gets Cheap Because 4G Due Out Soon
After the leaked photos and images of the iPhone 4G, it's a foregone conclusion that there will be a new iPhone announced soon. But that also means there will changes going on for previous iPhones.
The iPhone 4G is expected to be officially announced in just a few weeks . That's just enough time for Walmart to offer a sale on the soon-to-be surplus iPhone 3GS. Walmart plans to offer the 16GB 3GS for only $97, starting today.
Remember, though, that the deal comes with a 2-year contract agreement right before an even more powerful iPhone comes out . But if you're satisfied with the 3GS, this is a great way to get one cheaply. And many of the benefits of the iPhone 4.0 OS upgrade will apply to the 3GS.
Another simple indicator that Apple is making room for the iPhone 4G is the iPhone sales site itself. The iPhone 3G is being stripped of its "Select" button, meaning it can't be purchased.
