Apple's next-generation smartphone, the iPhone 4, is now available for pre-order online at the Apple store. Deliveries of the phone to buyers and stores begin June 24.
The 16 gigabyte (GB) and 32 GB versions of the recently unveiled phone sell for $199 and $299, respectively. The 8 GB previous generation iPhone, known as the 3GS, is still available for sale and costs $99.
For now, the iPhone 4 is only available for pre-order in black, not classic Mac white.
When selecting a phone, Apple insists that customers select their AT&T rate plan at the same time. AT&T is the exclusive provider of coverage for the iPhone, and new capped data plans went into effect last Monday. Buying an iPhone requires signing up for a two-year AT&T contract if one is not already an AT&T client.
