Apple Releases iOS 4.2, Fixes Bugs in iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch
With the release of iOS 4.2, Apple has fixed several security flaws present on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
In addition to adding new features to all devices running Apple's mobile operating system, iOS 4.2 also patches 46 existing vulnerabilities in devices running the old iOS 3.2, according to the Mac Security Blog written by the security firm Intego.
The security issues fixed by iOS 4.2 include flaws in Safari, Mail, and the FreeType PDF-viewing program.
The new iOS 4.2 is available for download and installation using iTunes.
