The Donna Karan New York (DKNY) Facebook page became the target of a clever anti-fur protest yesterday (Nov. 29) by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Reported by the social networking blog Mashable, thirteen Facebook users changed their profile photos to large block letters, and each posted a message in quick succession on the DKNY Facebook wall. When read top to bottom, the message spelled out, "DK Bunny Butcher."
The protest posts have been removed, but dismay at the clothing company's use of fur still has a strong digital presence. Recent posts read, Fur is murder!! Stop torturing bunnies and Stop using fur!"
