AT&T Says iPhone 4 Not Available Until June 29
Given the number of problems reported during the iPhone 4 pre-order process, it may not be surprising that AT&T is struggling with another part of the iPhone 4 launch. The company has released a statement saying due to high demand the iPhone 4 won't be available from AT&T until next week.
"iPhone 4 pre-order sales on June 15 were 10-times higher than the first day of pre-ordering for the iPhone 3GS last year. Demand is simply unprecedented," the statement read.
The sheer numbers of pre-ordered iPhone 4s means that anyone who didn't pre-order will have to wait until June 29 to get an iPhone 4 from AT&T.
AT&T emphasized that all pre-orders are still on track to arrive as scheduled. Indeed, many people who pre-ordered Apple's latest phone have already received theirs. When iPhones become available on June 29 they will be available on a "first-come, first-served basis while supplies last."
