Verizon Could Make Data Caps on Unlimited Plans This Month
It's been predicted ever since AT&T put data caps on unlimited plans, but now we're starting to hear specific information about Verizon following suit and capping its own unlimited plans.
Some recent rumors indicate that Verizon will be capping data plans before the end of this month, on July 29 to be exact. That means an official announcement from Verizon should be coming soon.
There are no details on pricing, but it's likely to be similar to AT&T's structure of $25 for 2GB and $15 for 200MB per month. It's possible that Verizon will try to undercut AT&T pricing in order to use its prices as a selling point, but even if that happens the prices should still be close to AT&T's.
The switch will also raise questions about whether current users can keep their (truly) unlimited data plans or if they will be phased out as contracts expire.
