Apple announced today that its new iPhone 4 smartphone will arrive in 17 more countries this Friday, July 30.
The new countries are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The 16 gigabyte (GB) version will sell for $199 and the 32 GB version will go for $299.
Though there was no word on whether free plastic iPhone 4 cases, or bumper covers , to correct the phone's antenna problem will also make the international journey, it's safe to assume the arrangement also applies to overseas buyers.
With rising ire over the "death grip" that causes the next-generation iPhone to lose reception, Apple announced on July 16 that the device's buyers would get a complimentary bumper. The case covers the gap between the two antennas in the lower left corner that, when spanned by human flesh, downgrades signal quality.
Otherwise, the new iPhone has received rave reviews , particularly for its screen quality, and is tremendously popular with consumers, with 1.7 million units being scooped up in the first three days of availability.
