Dell Streak Priced at $299 with AT&T Contract
More details about the Dell Streak continue to pour out of Dell today, giving information on prices but remaining oddly unspecific about the tablet computer's release date.
Dell confirmed that its iPad competitor will run Android 2.1 but will eventually be upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo. It will cost $299 for those who also get a 2-year data contract for the device through AT&T, though that is not an enticing feature for many people. With no contract, the Dell Streak will retail for $549.
Dell has only said the Streak will be available for purchase in late July, despite the fact that we are already in late July. The company has set up a pre-order page, promising that those who sign up today will have special access to a "24-hour pre-sale opportunity." This opportunity only includes a coupon for a super cheap Bluetooth headset and free 2nd Business Day shipping when it does become available.
