A new set of rumors about the upcoming BlackBerry tablet, purportedly called the BlackPad, have surfaced, including details about the price, release date and hardware.
The BlackPad will be manufactured by Quanta in anticipation of a November release, according to a report from DigiTimes. It will cost $499 at retail, which puts it right in line with the cheapest model of the iPad.
DigiTimes reports the tablet will come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and also confirms previous rumors saying the BlackPad won't have 3G access of its own but will be a "companion device" that receives a 3G signal from a BlackBerry handset. Supposedly the BlackPad will run the Android operating system, like many of the tablets to be released this fall .
