Dell Streak Gets Official Launch Date and Price
After a long stream of rumors and teases about the Streak, Dell has made the launch for its new Streak tablet official.
Dell confirmed in a company statement today that the Streak will be available on the AT&T network for $299.99 this Friday, August 13, but that's only with a 2-year contract. For those who don't want an AT&T contract, the Streak will sell for $549.99 .
The Dell Streak is actually a weird combination of smartphone and tablet. Its display is only 5 inches, which makes it larger than any smartphone but still much smaller than the average tablet.
"The Dell Streak has found a way to fit your whole world in a 5-inch screen. Its unique size will help people discover new ways to enjoy the web, connect with friends, and navigate their lives," said Ron Garriques, president of Dell Communication Solutions, in a statement.
The Slate will have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, similar to the ones in the latest smartphones , as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G (through AT&T) and the Android operating system.
