It has been two years since the G1 became the first Android phone to appear on any American network, let along T-Mobile's. Several much more successful Android handsets later, T-Mobile is now touting a true successor to the G1.
A teaser site for the G2 confirms that it will run on the T-Mobile network and feature Google's Android operating system . Like the G1, it will also be manufactured by HTC.
The G2 will be T-Mobile's first phone to run on the HSPA+ network, which isn't quite as fast as the 4G technology other networks are debuting but is still faster than T-Mobile's current setup.
According to rumors, we can expect to see the G2 released in September, although the teaser site doesn't mention any kind of release date.
